Integrated Core And Log Analysis Concepts In Shaly Clasthc Reservoirs
Walter H. Fertl
Elton Jr Frost
"Significant clay content of potential reservoir rocks not only imposes drilling, completion, and production problems, but to a varying degree, affects all electric, radioactive and nuclear logging techniques. An integrated study of core and log analysis in shaly sands presents SEM and X-ray diffraction data, proposed attempts for log-derived clay typing, and the application of gamma ray spectral information in the quantitative application of the Waxman-Smits model. Laboratory and field data illustrate this discussion."
