ABSTRACT

Although the log analyst is required to make predictions of producibility and ultimate recovery from logs of formations traversed by the borehole, he is entirely dependent on the logging company to efficiently produce accurate logs. The analysts and the oil industry in general require the logging companies to comply fully with that responsibility.

Efficient service and log accuracy are functions of (1) a specialized, long, and intensive training of well qualified engineers; (2) equipment design providing reliability and accuracy in operation, calibration, and measurement; a rapid change from one logging service to another during a series of operations; flexibility of accommodating future logging services; facility of maintenance by isolation of circuitry in modular form for quick and easy replacement and safeguards from human error by programmed circuitry; (3) the proficiency of operation of the equipment by the engineer.
