ABSTRACT

This paper briefly describes some of the characteristics of fractured reservoirs and general concepts regarding the representation of the pressure behavior in wells with vertical fractures. It is also mention the damage effects and stocking in this type of systems.

This paper also reviews the characteristics of the Horner techniques, MDH and the short term handling of data for the analysis of pressure tests in vertically fractured wells.

Using pressure data, graphics in different coordinate: cartesian, semi-logarithmic and log-log, and through a useful analysis procedure we try to integrate the use of patron curve techniques and the conventional methods. In a highly reliable manner and through application examples, we clearly illustrate the application of these techniques to determine the effective permeability of the formation , fracture’s length and the damage factor.
