ABSTRACT

This paper gives an overview of state-of-the-art production logging interpretation techniques. Existing approaches to production logging interpretation are classified into four categories: physical modeling, statistical modeling, empirical, and expert system approaches. Techniques within each category are briefly described and evaluated and their applicabilities are discussed. An intelligent, generalized production logging interpretation system, based on the integration of these four approaches, has great potential for improving interpretation accuracy and efficiency.
