LAS Information Package

An MS-DOS based package that describes the CWLS log data standard. The package includes a REFORMAT program (Version 2.41) to manipulate LAS files and a CERTIFY program (Version 3.5) to verify that the data set conforms to the LAS standard, etc. (see also The Log Analyst vol. 34, no. 2, March-April 1993, pp. 60-90).

PetroSoftTools-W (PST-W)

PetroSoftTools for Windows is a professional desk top solution for formation evaluations. This system is complete log analysis package with reading (import), interactive histograms, X-plots, Z-plots, multidimensional plots, formula interpreter, spreadsheets, statistics, nonlinear optimization technology (inverse techniques similar to Global, Optima, Elan), standard petrophysics, modern petrophysics (percolation, fractals for conductivity, SP, permeability) and best Russian petrophysics for West Siberian, reports, data export.

VSP-LOG software

VSP-LOG package provides joint processing and interpretation of VSP, LOG and 2D, 3D data to solve the problems of detailed investigation of the geological sections in the borehole, beneath the bottomhole and in the vicinity of borehole in the process of geophysical prospecting for oil and gas.

KARID

The program is intended for numerical solution of the 2D axial symmetric problems of inductive logging in media with horizontal and axial cylindrical boundaries. A fast version of the method of partial domains is used, to enable economic calculations profiling along the borehole.

The results are produced for sondes with elementary vertical magnetic dipole sources and receivers (the sources are switched on in turn). The results for more complicated sondes can be obtained by means of processing KARID's output data.

LATRLD

The program is intended for numerical solution of the 2D axial symmetric problems of laterologs in media with horizontal and axial cylindrical boundaries. A fast version of the method of partial domains is used, to enable economic calculations profiling along the borehole.

The potentials are produced for sondes with volume metallic sources and receivers, some of which can be electrically connected (the sources are switched on in turn). The results for more complicated sondes (dipoles etc.) can be obtained by means of processing LATRLD's output data.

NKARD

The program is intended for numerical solution of the 2D axial symmetric problems of electrical logging in media with horizontal and axial cylindrical boundaries. A fast version of the method of partial domains is used, to enable economic calculations profiling along the borehole.

The potentials are produced for sondes with point sources and receivers (the sources are switched on in turn). The results for more complicated sondes (dipoles etc.) can be obtained by means of processing NKARD's output data.

OBKARO1 - Inversion of BKZ electrical logging

This program is intended for numerical solution of the axial symmetric inverse problem for a suite of Russian BKZ lateral logs in sequence of layers with invasion zones. It is necessary to know the boundaries of layers and the samples of lateral sondes for every layer before processing. The program realizes the iterative method of consequent lateral corrections in conjunction with extrapolation of the model parameters.

The 5 default lateral logs are A0.4M0.1N, A1M0.1N, A2M0.5N, A4M0.5N, A8M1N. Another log with point electrodes or lateral logs with nonstandard length can be easily included. The processing of 50-layer model takes about 10 sec per iteration on PC Intel Pentium-133.

Just File Transfer

Just File Transfer (JFT) is designed for small (less than 1 million bytes) files and uses off the shelf async modems with speeds of 2.4 to 33.6 kbps and ISDN terminal adapters which support V.120 and Bonding async protocols at 64 and 128 kbps. JFT is ready to use with Cell Phones, Inmarsat M, B, and Mini-M terminals with setup scripts for the direct data modes of those terminals. JFT does not need any of the modem's internal error correction and will transmit data with 100% packet errors on line. JFT has a resume function that will recover and resume sending a file from sender disconnect or a complete power fail. JFT will never send the same file twice or corrupt a file during transmission.

ffastestsPC-HSD

For larger files (greater than 1 million bytes), the hardware / software combination ffastestsPC-HSD system provides a fast synchronous ISA buss communications board or a PCMCIA card and special software for the switched 56kb, or ISDN service and other synchronous data services including satellite communication. The software is designed to operate with multiple satellite hops andmaintain high data throughput in the presence of large amounts of errors. Any type of Unix or MS-DOS file may be transferred. Error control is accomplished using a 32-bit CRC check to insure no transmission errors. Throughputs of 410.000 Bytes per minute are typical on the domestic 64-kb service.
