Geomage can process data from EMI, FMI and STAR tools and allows the display and manipulation of the processed images alongside other logs stored in Geolog. Manual or automatic dip-picking, dynamic equalization, automatic computation of dip and azimuth, automatic fracture detection and textural mapping are among the many features of Geomage.
Facimage is a suite of routines for electrofacies analysis and core data modeling and is made available through collaboration between Paradigm and TotalFinaElf. Facimage makes TFE's Multi-Resolution Graph-Based Clustering (MRGC) algorithm generally available for the first time. MRGC analyzes the underlying structure of data in order to define natural data groups free from operator bias, and can provide a multi-resolution electrofacies classification such that a final model appropriate to the scale of investigation can be selected.
EZdip is a dipmeter processing module featuring advanced correlation methods for structural and stratigraphic dip computation. Formerly available as a standalone program from SHMSoft Inc., EZDip has now been integrated into the Geolog 6 environment.
Geolog uses CORBA based well data servers for database access which allow Geolog petrophysical applications to directly access data stored in third party databases without the need for file copying or data duplication. Well data servers are currently available for Landmark's OpenWorks, GeoQuest's GeoFrame and T-Surf's gOcad packages. Further well data servers are planned and an SDK is available to allow 3rd parties to build dataservers for their own proprietary datastores.
Geolog DBK is a toolkit to link Geolog to third party database structures.

Petroleum Software Technologies (PST) has taken some of the most powerful new mathematical modeling technologies available in the E & P industry today and made them available to every geoscientist through a simple PC interface.
NNLAP™ Neural Network Log Analysis Program
NNLAP™ uses neural network technology to generate synthetic wireline log and core properties from the available curve data. Neural networks learn the nature of the dependency between the curves you have abundantly available and the curves you need through a carefully selected and representative set of training examples.
NNLAP™ is an empirical method which offers significant advantages over traditional methods in that it: 1) does not require a mathematical model describing the predictive relationships, 2) yields robust solutions with only a few, well-chosen training examples, 3) preserves original data variability in the neural network-constructed mathematical model, 4) will not over-predict mean values (as will linear regression techniques), 5) is interactive, and allows the operator to use his/her knowledge and experience in training and validating the neural network solution, and 6) is fast, accurate, intuitive, and easy to learn to use.
NNLAP™ will generate high-quality synthetic curves (compressional or shear wave acoustic logs, porosity logs, NMR, core permeability, etc.), but can also be used to predict rock types, facies, mineralogy, and production data.

Rt-Mod™ Automatic Inversion Modeling Software for Resistivity Logs
Rt-Mod™ is an automatic, high-speed inversion modeling program for resistivity logs. It simultaneously corrects for borehole conductivity, invasion, bed shoulder effects, and dipping beds up to 60°. It gives an accurate representation of true formation resistivity (Rt) and the resistivity of the invaded zone (Rxo) at bed boundary resolutions of less than two feet for most resistivity logs.
The forward model combines finite element analysis and an analytical solution. This results in extremely fast computation times. The forward modeling results have been validated with known standards and by more than 70 companies using proprietary data from around the world. Rt-Mod™ offers the industry the only practical method for processing large intervals and large numbers of wells in batch mode. You can process 100 feet of induction log in about 10 seconds on a modern PC.
The program currently accommodates a two curve solution for induction logs (6ff40), old ES logs (lateral and normal logs), the Limestone Lateral Log, the Russian BKZ and induction logs, Chinese logs, the MPR and ARC MWD logs, the Dual Laterolog, Schlumberger’s AIT log, and Halliburton’s HRAI log. Rt-Mod can also perform a joint inversion on up to 6 BKZ curves simultaneously.
Applications include:
evaluating pays in thin beds
making accurate reserve estimates
perforating the correct zones
acquisition evaluations
looking for bypassed pay in thin (less than 40') beds
equity determinations

SP-Mod™ Automatic Inversion Modeling Software for Spontaneous Potential Logs
SP-Mod™ is an automatic, high-speed, inversion modeling program for the SP log. It corrects the SP log for Rt/Rmud and bed thickness effects to produce a “pseudo-static” SP at a 1-2’ vertical resolution. The corrected SP curve can be used to accurately predict Rw, even in formations that do not produce water samples. By using the SPRQ (SP Rock Quality) module, the operator can normalize out the effects of changing Rw and Rmf from well to well and generate a high resolution SPRQ curve that can then be used quantitatively to predict permeability.
SP-Mod™ uses modeling technology similar to that used in Rt-Mod™. The forward modeling results have been validated with known standards and by more than 70 companies using proprietary data from around the world. SP-Mod™ offers the industry the only method for processing large intervals and large numbers of wells in batch mode. You can process 100 feet of SP log in about 5 seconds on a modern PC. Rt-Mod and SP-Mod intervals can be run together in batch mode.
Applications include (but are not limited to):
evaluating pays in thin beds
calculating Rw (even in hydrocarbon-bearing formations too tight to produce water)
quantitatively predict permeability

Interactive Petrophysics is a unique, advanced graphical interpretation program designed and developed by petrophysicists to operate on your PC. It is portable, quick, versatile and easy-to-use log analysis software ideal for both geologists wanting to do a quality check of their log data and experienced petrophysicists carrying out multi-zone, multi-well petrophysical field analyses.
It is quite a radical change from the standard log analysis package in its ease of use, interactivity and speed. Its speed, versatility and interactivity mean that you can zone data and apply different methodologies graphically. Using only the mouse you can pick parameters from cross plots, histograms and log plots. The changes made to any parameter results in instantaneous re-calculation and presentation of the interpretation. This means that analysts can produce accurate results efficiently. For the more experienced user, a full range of functionality is available. This includes a module for 'Statistical Curve Analysis', applying Fuzzy Logic to predict rock property variations. The Monte Carlo module allows the user to perform a full Monte Carlo type error analysis of the petrophysics in just a few minutes giving zonal probability results (P10, P50, P90). A Rock Physics module is to be launched in Q3 2001. To understand why it is different or to evaluate the software, please download a copy from our website, or email us for a CD version.
