Petrophysics Journal

SPWLA publishes the journal Petrophysics bi-monthly in February, April, June, August, October and December. Petrophysics contains original contributions on theoretical and applied aspects of formation evaluation, including both open hole and cased hole well logging, core analysis and formation testing. Subscription is included in the annual dues for SPWLA members, and is $120 per year for non-members.

Letters to the Editor are welcomed, whether they are intended for publication or are comments and questions.
Editor's addresses

Discussions of previous papers are also appropriate. The author of the paper will normally be offered the option of submitting a response.

Submitting a paper
Papers may be articles, technical notes, case studies, reviews, or tutorials. The preferred method of submission is to send a Word file with embedded graphics by e-mail to the Editor. Figures should be saved in their original format for submission at the time of publication. Other methods of submission, and further information, are described in the Instructions to Authors.

Review process
Papers that comply with the goals of the journal are assigned to an Associate Editor who solicits three reviews and, based on these reviews, decides whether the paper should be accepted, revised, or rejected. Reviewers are given Guidelines and complete an Evaluation Form. Once accepted the author needs to make an Assignment of Copyright to the SPWLA.

Advertising is welcomed. One-time Advertising Rates are published in the journal. For additional frequency rates please contact the SPWLA business office.

Access to Previously Published Papers
All papers published from 1960 through 2006 are available for download through the Library.
It is also possible to purchase a complete set of papers (1960-2002) on DVD
