Upcoming Event: SPWLA 2026 NMR SIG Conference

The SPWLA 2026 NMR SIG Conference is an in-person technical meeting bringing together NMR experts in petrophysics, logging, core analysis, data processing and correction, and NMR sensor technology applied to subsurface characterization.
The conference is designed as an off-the-record technical forum, with no publication and no recording (pictures or videos) of the material presented, ensuring an open and candid environment for technical exchange, discussion, and collaboration.
Abstract Review Status
The Call for Abstracts has now closed following a strong level of interest and a high-quality set of submissions from across industry and academia.
The conference is currently in the abstract review and program selection phase. Submissions are being evaluated by the Program Committee based on technical merit, relevance, and contribution to the overall balance of the technical program.
Authors will be informed of the review outcome by mid‑June 2026.
Registration & Attendance
The SPWLA 2026 NMR SIG Conference is an in‑person event with limited capacity due to venue access, safety, and logistics constraints.
Conference registration is expected to open in early June 2026 and close in mid‑August.
Registration Fee Structure:
- SPWLA members: ~200 EUR (USD equivalent to be applied at registration)
- Students: ~100 EUR (USD equivalent to be applied at registration)
- Standard registration: ~250 EUR (USD equivalent to be applied at registration)
Registration will be processed in USD via the SPWLA registration system. Final USD amounts will be communicated when registration opens, based on the prevailing exchange rate.
The registration fee covers full access to the technical program, coffee breaks, and lunch on both conference days.
Participation will be managed on a first‑come basis once registration opens. Early registration is strongly recommended. Due to site access and safety requirements, late registrations may not be possible.

Conference Sponsors
A limited number of standardized sponsorship opportunities are available. The Hospitality Sponsor option supports conference catering or equivalent logistics and is offered on a first‑committed basis. The Industry Spotlight Sponsor, which is capped at one, supports the conference program without marketing rights and includes a single, clearly labeled 20‑minute technical, non‑marketing presentation.
All sponsorship packages include mention in the conference agenda and SPWLA NMR SIG communications, as well as one registration waiver.

About the NMR SIG
NMR SIG was established in September 2016, as one of the outcomes of the 2016 SPWLA Spring Topical Conference on NMR, to provide a focal organization designed to bring the NMR community of experts and practitioners together to educate each other as well as the broader community on the proven concepts and applications of NMR.
The SIG will also serve as a venue to discuss new ideas for technology and applications to enhance understanding of the formations and the fluids contained in them. The SIG’s initial goals include establishing industry standards for NMR measurements, publishing a special volume in Petrophysics, and organizing future SIG conferences and workshops.
Membership in the NMR SIG is open to all current members in good standing of the SPWLA at no additional fee.
